During these treacherous hours I have had lots of time to ponder why country music sucks so very, very hard, and I have come to the conclusion that country musicians use the same two songs and just sing different lyrics over them. You have the choice between the good ol' up tempo two step and the slow, but ever reflective ballad. Now when it comes to lyrical content artists like to expand their horizons a little bit and explore not two, but three different subjects!! These three topics are:

1. Girls, which includes makin' love, having kids with the wife, and of course saying "I'm sorry babe."

2. Partying, which is an all encompassing mix of smoking, drinking whiskey, picking up broads, and beating on the wife!

3. Redneck stuff, which is driving tractors, shooting queers, growing up in a small town, and once again drinking whiskey.

Now, if I did my math correctly that's a whopping six different song types, which spread over the course of twelve hours means I got to hear two hours of up tempo songs about girls, two hours of slow ballads about girls, two hours of up tempo songs about partying, two hours of of slow ballads about partying, two hours of up tempo songs about redneck shit, and finally two hours of slow ballads about being a redneck. Yeeeehaw I do love that repetitious country music! I think this chart* explains it best.

*All research done listening to Country 105, all country all the time!!!!

Epicus Maximus

Deron, Joe, and Friends is all about epic, which is obvious through our majestic masterpieces we also call "songs." Every once in a while, someone else does something epic, and I would like to share one such instance with you. Behold, the most epic guitar ever made.

This axe was custom made for a Japanese power metal guitarist for about 4,500 big ones. I believe Deron explains this and the rest of the DJF news better than I, so I'll just blockquote him.

"Yes, it's true. After another short hiatus we have made another comeback. This time around we are a more focused, majestic, and epic consortium, and the new tunes we are musically fusing are of course as epic as ever. The slightly new DJF format consists of myself (D-Tron) and Joseph on the instrument we like to refer to as the "coustic." Nico Salvatori is our current lyrical mastermind and primary vocalist, although we all contribute in that department. We also have adapted a new philosophy that if we cannot play a song live, it sucks, so don't be expecting a lot of overdubbed guitar wankage ... Lastly, through our good friend Martin we may be entering a professional studio to record a bunch of tunes, but until then we'll just be recording at lackluster quality.
